The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has awarded WUWM the national Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding News Series (large market radio) for Project Milwaukee: Black Men in Prison. This prestigious honor is one of the most respected in the broadcast industry, and represents WUWM’s relentless pursuit of excellence in journalism.

WUWM 89.7 FM – Milwaukee Public Radio has been recognized with two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards in the Large Market Radio category. The Radio Television Digital News Association has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism.

WUWM is launching a brand new lineup for our weeknight evening and Saturday programming. Evening audiences will now enjoy two new shows rather than rebroadcasts of programs. For our Saturday listeners, the schedule will be restructured so like-minded programs air back-to-back. Our goal is to keep our programming fresh, relevant and entertaining for our listeners.

The Milwaukee Police Department takes center stage on this week’s This American Life. The episode "Cops See It Differently, Part One" is part of a two week series about policing.

Did you know that every public radio program has a clock? Broadcast clocks are set templates that stations like ours use to track the timing of a show's stories and interviews, newscasts, and funding credits each day.

Happy Thanksgiving from WUWM!
