Milwaukee County Courthouse, Safety Building Closed Until Wednesday

Smoke damage from a weekend fire has closed the Courthouse and Safety Building Monday and Tuesday. Jury duty is postponed.

Clean up continues following a fire Saturday at the Milwaukee County Courthouse. Smoke damage has forced that facility, and the adjacent Safety Building  to remain closed today and tomorrow. The fire and its aftermath is causing some staffing changes, including:

Gas Prices Relatively Low on Holiday Weekend

Holiday travelers are experiencing less pain at the pump this weekend.

Gas prices have taken big rides in recent months.

First, some shot up to well over $4 per gallon. Now, during the holiday weekend, many are nearly a dollar lower.

Many stations across the Milwaukee area are selling gas for 3.29 a gallon.

Erin Roth works for the Wisconsin Petroleum Council. He says there are a couple reasons for the relatively low holiday price.
