Hundreds Rally for Justice in Downtown Milwaukee

Brooke Love wore a hoodie and carried skittles, to represent what was on Trayvon Martin, when he was shot to death in Florida.

People across the country took to the streets Saturday, in support of Trayvon Martin, and to urge federal officials to bring forth charges. Milwaukee was among more than 100 cities where people participated.

Around a thousand or so people gathered in front of the federal building downtown. While the catalyst was last week’s verdict in the George Zimmerman trial in Florida, it was clear the rally here was about more.

Brooke Love came dressed in a black hoodie and carried a bag of skittles.

Heat May Have Claimed Three Lives in Milwaukee

The Milwaukee Health Department suspects three residents may have died from heat-related causes. The city and state were submerged in hot, humid conditions much of the week.

Investigations are underway in all three deaths to confirm the causes.

The health department continues urging people to check on those who may be trapped in a hot home, and to be aware of symptoms of heat-related illness: dizziness, fainting, headache or nausea.

DNR Expands Drinking Water Advisory in Jackson

More Town of Jackson residents are being told, not to drink their well water, because it's contaminated with benzene.

Last July, a gas pipeline ruptured, with the fuel seeping into the earth and groundwater. Ever since, the owner, West Shore Pipeline Company has taken water samples from both inside and outside the spill zone. The DNR then analyzes them and warns residents if theirs is tainted.

The agency has now expanded its Drinking Water Health Advisory west, to include:

-  homes in the Crosswind Farms subdivision
