The Avalon Theater in Bay View plans to auction off vintage equipment, including projectors, popcorn machines and seats.

Online bidding begins March 13 at noon - and continues for a week. People can walk through the theater on Sat., March 16 from 9 A.M. - 4 P.M., to view items on the auction block.

DNR Plans for Environmental Education Center Bend to Public Opinion

Within the past couple years, the Wisconsin DNR has actively encouraged the traditions of hunting and fishing.

That new focus will also be felt at the MacKenzie Environmental Education Center, about 25 miles north of Madison. For generations, instructors there have taught school children about native species and conservation.

A second speedskater has come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct by four-time Olympic speedskater and former US Speedskating head Andy Gabel. Nikki Meyer, who was known as Nikki Ziegelmeyer during her skating career says she was fifteen years old in 1991 when Gabel forced her to have sex in a dorm room at the US Olympic Education Center in Marquette, Michigan.

City Struggles to Remove Condemned Houses; Asks State for Help

The cost of demolishing condemned properties in Milwaukee is squeezing city finances. So this week, leaders will ask the state for more aid to combat the problem. It grows bigger by the day. We took a first hand look.

Huge metal teeth bite into the second story of a house on North 26th Street. Moments later, support beams crack and the walls fold. Finally, the roof collapses. Perhaps that’s an apt metaphor for the effects of the recent economic downturn. The recession caused the roof to fall in on many homeowners. Hundreds, unable to make monthly payments, abandoned their homes.
