The Art of Ever-Changing Glass

A Wisconsin master of glass work discusses the medium’s artistic appeal. Beth Lipman is an internationally renowned glass artist based in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. She spoke with Bonnie North. Lipman will be leading a Glass + Kiln Weekend Workshop this Saturday and Sunday at the John Michael Kohler Center in Sheboygan.

Metro Area Apartment Construction Booming

The Enclave is under construction in Wauwatosa.

The economic downturn has hit the builders of homes and condominiums hard. Unemployment in the construction trades tops 25 percent. Still, one sector is hot. Large apartment complexes are taking shape, including on the metro Milwaukee landscape.

As we near the end of summer, kids are returning from camp.

Last Friday for instance, children in Oconomowoc reunited with their families. These young people are used to being separated from parents, because their mothers, fathers – or both – are in the military.

Perennially Producing Forest
