In honor of the upcoming Earth Day, we hear about the City of Milwaukee’s sustainability program. Matt Howard is the Director of Environmental Sustainability for the City of Milwaukee. Dennis Grzezinski is senior staff counsel for Midwest Environmental Associates and one of the 14 members of the city’s Green Team. They spoke with Susan Bence.
Across the country, the term “War on Women” had made its way into the lexicon. As proof of an alleged war, critics of recent legislation point to changes in women’s health care, including abortion protocol, as well as pay discrepancies between the genders. WUWM’s LaToya Dennis reports that Wisconsin has changed a few policies affecting women, with supporters claiming there is no concerted war, just changes that make sense.
Technology has transformed health care in recent times – supplying everything from sophisticated imaging machines to electronic medical records. When it comes to communications, though, the medical field continues to rely on a device many might consider archaic – the pager. But doctors may soon ditch their trusty old beepers, at least at one Milwaukee-area hospital. As WUWM’s Erin Toner reports, it’s testing a new system in hopes of improving patient care.
