Faithe Colas

Advisory Board Member

Faithe Colas is president of VonCommunications LLC, a company committed to connecting people and growing the community through community engagement.

She began her career in media, community engagement and public relations 35+ years ago, beginning with the state’s oldest Black newspaper, the Milwaukee Courier, in 1987.

Faithe is a former host of MPTV’s Black Nouveau, an award-winning program that tells stories of triumph and transformation in Milwaukee's African-American community.

She served in two roles with The Salvation Army, first as the community relations director and then as the assistant divisional director of development. She led the organization to a first-of-its-kind partnership with the Milwaukee Police Department, providing emotional and spiritual support to families impacted by traumatic experiences and loss.

Faithe has also served on the executive command staff of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office as the director of public affairs and community engagement.

In recent years, she has been working with WUWM staff to establish the Eric Von Broadcast Fellowship in honor of her late husband. She joined the WUWM Advisory Board in 2018.

Faithe was born and raised in Milwaukee. She grew up in the 53206 zip code and is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. She enjoys listening to talk radio, reading, lectures and documentaries. She listens to 89.7 daily. Faithe is mom and grandmother to a blended family and lives in the historic Sherman Park neighborhood with her fur baby Maxx.
