News Director

Marge has been with WUWM since it changed formats from music to news and information in the late 1980’s. Searching for a place where she could produce in-depth journalism, Marge was hired by WUWM as a reporter. For several years, Marge also hosted Morning Edition.

While a reporter, Marge was a frequent contributor to NPR and won numerous awards for her work.

Since fall of 2000, Marge has been managing the news department but still has the occasional opportunity to produce stories.

Prior to joining WUWM, Marge worked in commercial radio both as an afternoon news anchor and a field reporter. She also worked for short periods at a few TV stations.

Heat May Have Claimed Three Lives in Milwaukee

The Milwaukee Health Department suspects three residents may have died from heat-related causes. The city and state were submerged in hot, humid conditions much of the week.

Investigations are underway in all three deaths to confirm the causes.

The health department continues urging people to check on those who may be trapped in a hot home, and to be aware of symptoms of heat-related illness: dizziness, fainting, headache or nausea.

DNR Expands Drinking Water Advisory in Jackson

More Town of Jackson residents are being told, not to drink their well water, because it's contaminated with benzene.

Last July, a gas pipeline ruptured, with the fuel seeping into the earth and groundwater. Ever since, the owner, West Shore Pipeline Company has taken water samples from both inside and outside the spill zone. The DNR then analyzes them and warns residents if theirs is tainted.

The agency has now expanded its Drinking Water Health Advisory west, to include:

-  homes in the Crosswind Farms subdivision
