After years of making rounds at music festivals, bars and other miscellaneous concert venues, a Milwaukee alt. country and roots rock band is gearing up for their first full length release. Great Lake Drifters are about to put themselves on your music radar with their upcoming album, Radio Picture Show. With a sound that never quite sits contently within one genre, the band is able to maintain the attention of your ears.
The new album is filled with just as much mileage as the band itself; containing songs the band has had in their playlist for the last couple years, as well as an array of brand new ones. Their music is equally warm, inviting and provoking. The songwriting often carries a very poetic tone the way some of the stories are told through allusions and assisted by melodic harmonies.
The band’s sound and undeniable talent is a culmination of each member’s diverse work history. Coming from a number of different groups like: The Buskers, The Form, and The New Red Moons, Lisa Ridgely and the Fainting Room, Field Report, Testa Rosa, and Work, they pooled their acquired skills together and created something entirely new. The album, Radio Picture show is set to release on March 21st, at the Equinox Music Festival at Linneman’s.
