Busy Travel Period Commences - Delays Probable on Certain Stretches

Wisconsin expects its heaviest traffic today, tomorrow, Wednesday and the Sunday after Thanksgiving, because of the holiday and the deer hunt.

The state gun deer hunt begins tomorrow, so thousands of those taking part have begun flocking to the woods.

According to the state Dept. of Transportation, the roads will be busy Wednesday with Thanksgiving travelers and returning hunters. Sunday, Dec. 1 should be the busiest of all, with hunters and holiday visitors returning home.

This coming Sunday will feature thousands of people heading to and from the Packers' game in Green Bay.

While much highway construction has ended for the year, the DOT says a few major projects are still underway and will likely cause delays:

-- Zoo Interchange (Milwaukee)

-- Hoan Bridge (Milwaukee)

-- Leo Frigo Bridge (Green Bay)

-- sections of U.S. Hwy 41
