Crowds Flock to the Fair

Wisconsin State Fair

State Fair has been drawing big crowds, especially over the weekend.

Spokeswoman Kathleen O’Leary gives a lot of the credit to pleasant temperatures.

She says the crowds have created longer lines in some cases, but no incidents.

O’Leary says officers from several municipalities and the fair’s own police force are on hand, in the event that a safety concern arises because of the large crowds.

She adds that workers track the number of fairgoers on the grounds, by taking counts at the entrance and exit gates.

The fair started on Thursday August 1 and runs through Sunday August 11.
