The Currys: Band Gets Start in Oyster Bar, Now Performs around the Country

Andrew Owen

The Currys, who live on the East Coast, consist of two brothers (Jimmy and Tommy) and a cousin (Galen) who got their start playing at oyster bars. They do not necessarily come from a musical family, but after teaching themselves how to play instruments, they wanted to go on tour.

They have been traveling around the country and have recently released a debut album, Follow.

While recording Follow, the family band wanted to title their album, Wrecking Ball. Unfortunately, they needed to choose another title since Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” came out weeks before their press date.

Three songs are featured in this interview:

  • Follow
  • Come on Home
  • Wrecking Ball
