Jon Strelecki
Tom Luljak and guests

Enjoying a Friday night fish fry has long been a tradition in the Milwaukee area. But, over the years the dining experience has changed as the perch population in Lake Michigan has dwindled.

Chefs have found alternatives, using other types of fish, but with the world's appetite for fish outpacing supplies, the world is facing a shortage of seafood.

On this edition of UWM Today, learn about a new UWM program that could be the foundation for dramatically expanding the urban aquaculture industry here in Wisconsin. Three members of UWM'sSchool of Freshwater Sciences, John Janssen, Ryan Newton and Jhonathan Villet, chat with UWM Today host Tom Luljak.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
