Ex Fabula: All Stars Preview

To celebrate the end of Ex Fabula’s groundbreaking Season 9 and preview the upcoming ALL STARS event on May 18th, we’ll spend the next few shows revisiting some of our most-loved stories from recent months.

Mel Miskimen, the audience favorite from October’s “What Could Go Wrong?” StorySlam, is our first featured teller. Her husband knocked it out of the park with her 35th birthday present – tickets and backstage passes to see her favorite celebrity crush, Sting. Would Mel’s fantasies of bonding with the artist and inspiring a new song be realized? Listen as she describes a hilarious but cringeworthy backstage encounter with the musician at Alpine Valley – what she can remember of it, anyway.

Storyteller Richard Kehrin

Our second story follows a young Richard Kerhin during his years working at a few of Milwaukee’s Italian restaurants. In his tale from November’s "Work" StorySlam, he entertains the audience with impressions of former bosses and coworkers and explains why he spent five years afraid of cream-colored Buick Rivieras (he owed a former “associate” who drove one $500 for an illicit favor gone sour). And the worst part? Richard’s mom witnessed the deal go down!

We have a full calendar of events coming up in April and May, including Fellows events and workshops, culminating in the Season 9 ALL STARS “Connection” event Friday, May 18th at Turner Hall Ballroom. Here you can catch both Mel and Richard, as well as the other Season 9 audience favorites, and vote to crown the ultimate audience favorite of the night.
