Friday on Lake Effect:
It’s an all music show today, starting with composer, instrument builder and sound designer Cheryl Leonard. She’s been in residence at UWM this week and is known for her exploration of the “micro-aural” worlds of non-traditional instruments like pinecones and sand. Then, Brookfield native Nora Collins is making a name for herself on the country music scene without going to Nashville, while the duo Escondido is based in Nashville, but their sound brings to mind the open spaces of the American west.
