Friday on Lake Effect: Stories of Rape & Survival, Bob Reitman Remembers the 'Bomb Scare Concert'

Friday on Lake Effect:

Today on the show, a work of fiction by a Milwaukee writer looks at a very real problem on college campuses today – date rape.  Later, a woman who was the victim of a brutal rape while in college talks about her remarkable recovery and the work she does today on behalf of victims.  The new production at Milwaukee’s Acacia Theatre imagines a meeting between Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis.  And we’ll look back at a notorious Bruce Springsteen concert, which happened 40 years ago today in Milwaukee.

Guests:

  • Ellen Bravo, author, Again and Again
  • Monika Kørra, author, Kill the Silence: A Survivor’s Life Reclaimed
  • Elaine Wyler, David Spiro, and Simon Provan, Acacia Theatre
  • Bob Reitman, WUWM; and Bruce Springsteen (archival tape)
