Seventy years ago this year, the Mauthausen Concentration Camp in German-occupied Austria was liberated by the U.S. Army’s 11^th Armoured Division – The Thunderbolts. Wisconsinite Mark Olsky and his family were at this camp and survived thanks to squad leader Sergeant Albert Kosiek. Decades after the camp’s liberation Albert’s son Larry Kosiek and Mark Olsky finally met. Then, a novel by Wisconsin writer Kathie Giorgio examines the issue of rape culture and how women victims are treated. And Wisconsin writer Ann Bausum shares the story of a pivotal moment in the gay rights movement – the Stonewall Riots.
