Iraq War Veteran Sentenced for Killing His Wife

A judge on Friday handed Benjamin Sebena a life sentence, with no parole for 35 years. He pleaded guilty to killing 30-year-old Jennifer Sebena, a Wauwatosa police officer.

Officer Sebena was shot to death on Christmas Eve, while on patrol. Her husband told investigators he had been jealous and ambushed her.

Initially, 30-year-old Benjamin Sebena pleaded insanity, but two doctors concluded he could be held responsible for his actions. He is an Iraq war veteran.

Under Wisconsin law, judges can allow parole after 20 years, on first-degree intentional homicide convictions.
