Iron Brigade & Beyond: Wisconsin in the Civil War - Part 1

Apr 13, 2011

As the nation honors the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, we look at Wisconsin's role in the War Between the States.

On the sesquicentennial anniversary of the siege on Fort Sumter, we hear about Wisconsin’s contributions to the Civil War. Lance Herdegen is the chair of the Wisconsin Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission and former director of the Institute of Civil War Studies at Carroll University. Today marks the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War’s first battle, the siege of Fort Sumter. Herdegen will be giving a lecture at the Civil War Museum in Kenosha on Thursday.
