Kenosha Takes Itself Out Of The Running For Foxconn Plant

Foxconn Twitter

The city of Kenosha says it no longer wants to be considered as a possible site to locate a Foxconn plant.  The Taiwanese electronics giant wants to build a huge LCD screen manufacturing operation in Kenosha or Racine County.

The state Senate is expected to vote today on whether to provide $3 billion in tax incentives to lure the company to Wisconsin.

Kenosha Mayor John Antaramianwrote to Gov. Scott Walker on Monday that the Foxconn deal doesn't do enough to address state laws, making it difficult for the city to support the project.

The mayor cited restrictions involving tax incremental districts and the state's levy limit law.

Kenosha's absence would leave Racine County as the most likely location for the factory.
