The Launch of UWM's Connected Systems Institute

Jason Rieve
Tom Luljak and guests

One of the most important and most competitive industries in Wisconsin is manufacturing. It employs hundreds of thousands of workers and accounts for the majority of our state’s exports. But in order to remain competitive, manufacturing has to continue to adapt.

At UWM, a new initiative has launched to help manufacturers do just that. It’s called the Connected Systems Institute. The program was designed to harness the power of the internet - using machines to talk to each other, providing huge amounts of data to use to create more efficient and more profitable operations.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
