Local Gas Prices Dip Less Than National Average

Local fuel prices have dropped about eight cents a gallon in the last week, averaging $3.19 a gallon. The average cost of fuel in the Milwaukee area is now 10.3 cents cheaper than a year ago and 13.3 cents below last month's average price.  Average per gallon prices nationally were 13 cents less than last month and 26 cents lower than year ago prices. The statistics were compiled by the GasBuddy.com, a web based fuel price monitor. Spokesman Patrick DeHaan says cost savings are significant. "Americans are spending over $100 million per day less on gasoline than they did a year ago," DeHaan said.
