Milwaukee Alderman Wants Police to Enforce Curfew on Minors

Milwaukee's curfew requires people under age 17 to be home by 10 P.M. on weekdays and 11 P.M. on weekends.

According to Ald. Bob Donovan, the city has issued only 70 citations this year for curfew violations, down from a peak of 2,000 in 2006.

Donovan says it's "clear that Milwaukee police are working on other, more pressing and serious crime issues" but he insists that by not enforcing the curfew, some young people are embolden to be out after dark committing crimes or ruining neighborhoods' quality of life by playing loud music or loitering.
