Earlier this week, hundreds of people turned out at the Milwaukee Art Museum for a public hearing on the proposed Milwaukee County budget for the coming fiscal year.

County Executive Chris Abele has touted his budget for holding the line on taxes and increasing funding for the behavioral health division.

But the County Board budget committee has offered up significant changes to the budget, which are scheduled to go before the full board next week.

County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic speaks with Lake Effect's Mitch Teich about the proposed budget changes and how they will impact the future of Milwaukee County.

"I do feel that the budget we received from the County Executive is not as balanced and really puts a lot of the pain really in one spot, and that was once again on the backs of workers," Dimitrijevi says.
