Milwaukee Native Fights for Human Rights in Afghanistan

Kimberley Motley, Facebook

Attorney Kimberley Motley returned to her hometown last weekend to speak at MATC’s graduation.

Motley has degrees from MATC, as well as Marquette University and UW-Milwaukee. For the last six years, she's been working as an “advocate” -- or defense attorney -- in Afghanistan. She represents people who run afoul of the law.

Motley told WUWM that her heart lies in the pro bono work she does in that country on human rights and women’s issues.

Ann-Elise is WUWM's news director.
