New DNA Testing Possible Here

Wisconsin law enforcement officials are among those nationwide awaiting a possible change regarding DNA testing.Federal authorities are currently testing a new tool that would deliver DNA analysis in a shorter period of time. Wisconsin Department of Justice officials would like to implement the new rapid testing method once its approved at the national level. The new equipment could provide DNA test results in 90 minutes or less, rather than days or weeks, depending on the urgency of a case. A recently passed state law allows authorities to collect DNA from anyone arrested for a felony or convicted of any crime. Prior to the new law, collection was limited to convicted felons and sex offenders.
