No Ice Skating In Milwaukee This December Weekend, But You Can Golf

Our weather is too warm for Milwaukee County to open the outdoor ice rink at Red Arrow Park downtown, yet the county is keeping open four golf courses this weekend- Currie, Grant, Lincoln and Whitnall.

Temperatures have been unseasonably mild this fall, and the trend is forecast to continue, at least into next week.

Regarding when "Slice of Ice" will open for skaters downtown, county parks spokesman Joe Mrozinski isn't sure how long the delay will continue. "We need several days with the right conditions to have the rink ready to go, but just when we think we can start, a warm front or rain moves in,” says Mrozinski.

He reminds people who definitely want to ice skate that one option is the indoor rink at Wilson Park.
