On That Note: Moving On, But Not Leaving

Juan-Miguel Hernandez
Cellist Robert Cohen

Each month cellist Robert Cohen joins Lake Effect to talk about life as a touring classical musician. This month, we find Cohen making a big professional change: After 6 years, he performed his final concerts as a member of the Milwaukee-based Fine Arts Quartet. Cohen is returning to a predominantly solo career.

In this edition of On That Note, Cohen muses about the inevitability of change and the joy music still brings him: "It may be very tough to be away all the time," he says. "But the new experiences and the new ideas that people bring to me may, hopefully, seep through into my cello playing, my music making."

The good news for us is that despite the changes in Cohen's career, On That Note will continue. So it's not goodbye - and we're very happy about that.
