Prosecutors are reviewing possible criminal charges against three West Milwaukee police officers who allegedly used a stun gun on a man suffering from mental illness -- who later died. A medical examiner's report says the use of taser shocks led to the death of 22-year-old Adam Trammel in West Milwaukee last May.
A neighbor had called police saying Trammel was running around naked and acting strangely. Family members say Trammel suffered from schizophrenia. Trammel's father says his son was in the shower, drinking water from a jug, when police burst through the door and used the stun gun.
West Milwaukee Police Chief Dennis Nasci tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that prosecutors are reviewing the case. He says two of the officers involved remain on duty while the investigation continues. The other has taken a job with another department.
