Jamey Lamont Jackson has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
The 28-year-old Milwaukee man allegedly was involved in a confrontation with 18-year-old Sylvester Lewis on May 21, on the playground at Clarke Street Elementary School.
According to the criminal complaint against Jackson, 10-year-old Sierra Guyton was shot in the head and suffered brain damage in the incident.
The complaint says Lewis admitted to firing a weapon, after Jackson allegedly pointed a gun at him, and Lewis felt a shot go past his year. Lewis was charged earlier in connection with the incident.
The criminal complaint says Jackson pleaded guilty to Second Degree Reckless Homicide in 2003. If he’s found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
The complaint says Lewis told authorities he was riding his bike, when he saw Jackson and four other men sitting on steps that led to the playground. Lewis says “one of the men confronted him about stealing his ‘baby’s momma’s kid’s’ clothes.”
