Johnny Solomon had a promising career as a singer and songwriter, and then a promising career in food. But both were derailed by mental illness and substance abuse.
Solomon moved to a small-town in western Wisconsin to try to flee those ghosts, but they found him and put the brakes on his career.
He’s made it out the other side with the support of his Communist Daughter band members, including his wife Molly Moore.
Solomon and Moore played several dates recently as a duo, including one in Milwaukee. They stopped by the Lake Effect studio to shared their story and their music.
The couple makes up 40 percent of the group Communist Daughter. Their latest release is Lions and Lambs.
