State Job Growth Lags

Job growth in Wisconsin during 2012 lagged behind the U.S. and virtually all of the Midwest.

The latest statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor rank the state 33rd in the country in terms of job creation last year. All of Wisconsin’s Midwestern neighbors, except Illinois, outperformed the Badger State. Private sector job growth here recorded a virtual tie with Illinois.

The latest figures for all of 2012 represent an improvement for Wisconsin. The state ranked 44th nationally for private sector job creation for the annual period that ended in September.
