Stepp Stands Firm - She's Guiding WDNR In Right Direction

Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources secretary Cathy Stepp has faced her share of controversy.

Now, former Dane County executive Kathleen Falk is calling for her removal.

Falk – one of four Democrats hoping to defeat Governor Scott Walker in a recall election – believes environmental enforcement has suffered under Stepp’s watch.

WUWM Environmental Reporter Susan Bence talked with Stepp Monday – after she spoke briefly at a water quality conference in downtown Milwaukee.

Stepp says DNR experts have weighed in on proposed environmental legislation – including the failed iron ore mining bill – every step of the way.

Susan is WUWM's environmental reporter.
