Thursday on Lake Effect: Milwaukee's Neighborhood Pharmacist, Uprooted Theatre, Danish Folk Music

Thursday on Lake Effect:

We meet Lester Carter, Junior – Dr. Carter – an iconic figure from Milwaukee’s north side who has served a neighborhood as a pharmacist for nearly 50 years. He’s receiving an honorary degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin on Friday. Then, we talk with two of the four founding members of Milwaukee’s Uprooted Theatre about their newest, and last production, and what’s ahead for the founding members once the company ceases to be at the end of the month. And we meet a Danish folk duo performing in Milwaukee tonight – and learn about the Midwestern connection to that tradition.

Guests:

  • Lester Carter, Jr., pharmacist
  • Marti Gobel & Dennis Johnson, Uprooted Theatre
  • Mette Jensen & Kristian Bugge, Danish folk musicians
