U.S. Presents Medal of Valor to Two Oak Creek Officers

Lt. Brian Murphy and Officer Sevan Lenda responded to the mass shooting at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek in summer of 2012.

The gunman shot Murphy multiple times, but he survived.

Vice President Joe Biden honored 22 officers and fire fighters at the White House on Wednesday. Among the others awarded the Medal of Valor were the officers who captured a Boston Marathon bombing suspect.

Biden said the 22 reacted instinctively in emergencies, putting other lives above their own. He called the saddest part of the day, having to honor two officers killed in the line of duty.
