UWM Connecting Water Quality Monitoring Research With Industries

Jon Strelecki

Water is a big business in Wisconsin. The formation of the Water Council – a collection of more than 150 companies working in water related manufacturing and services is a testimony to that.

So is the new School of Freshwater Sciences at UWM, the only school devoted to the study of freshwater in the United States. On this edition of UWM Today, meet Junhong Chen, a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UW-Milwaukee and the Center Director of the Water Equipment and Policy I/UCRC. Chen is working closely with chemists, biologists, scientists and industry to create new systems for monitoring the quality of water.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
