Walker Postpones Casino Decision

Gov. Scott Walker will not make an announcement today regarding a plan to build a new casino on the site of the former Dairyland Greyhound Park.

There will be no announcement today regarding the future of gambling in Kenosha. Gov. Scott Walker spokesman Tom Evenson says the Governor needs more time to review information submitted to him by the Menominee tribe. The Menominee want to contract with Hard Rock Internation to create an $800 million casino project in Kenosha. Gov. Walker said earlier he expected to make a decision about the project by the end of this week. The Ho-Chunk and Potawatomi tribes oppose the new casino.
