Wednesday on Lake Effect:

Milwaukee philanthropist, businesswoman and educator Betty Quadracci has died. We look back at her life and legacy. Then, a Milwaukee doctor is trying to raise awareness about a new test for sepsis, which could save lives. A new book tells the story of Milwaukeean Danny Goodman: he was working in minor league baseball in the ‘30s when he had a novel idea – selling souvenirs. And essayist Mel Miskimen looks for a sign from her late mother… and finds one.
