Our six month-long series, Project Milwaukee: Black Men in Prison, gets underway with a preview of the scope of the project, and details of a collaboration with Milwaukee Public Television. Later, for Veterans Day, we learn about a new photography collection that documents the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. The flights have taken more than five thousand Wisconsin WWII Veterans to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington. A Milwaukee woman’s novel culls from real-life parish newsletters during World War II. And we’ll take a tour of the historic, endangered Soldiers Home at the VA Medical Center.
