 Nancy Camden Freelance Producer | | New Wisconsin resident, Nancy Camden interviews the Wisconsinites she meets while roaming the Milwaukee area with audio recording equipment. She draws upon her thirty-year career as a visual artist to create audio 'pictures' through editing slice-of-life pieces for Lake Effect.  Kurt Chandler Writer, Editor | | Kurt Chandler is a senior editor at Milwaukee Magazine and the author of two books of nonfiction, including Shaving Lessons: A Memoir of Father and Son. His work has been published in a number of newspapers and magazines, from The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and Minneapolis Star Tribune, to Advertising Age, The Advocate and Salon.com. Chandler is a writing instructor, motorcycle enthusiast and guitar player in a bluegrass band. He lives in Wauwatosa with his wife and their teenage daughter.

 Jean Creighton Astronomy Contributor | | Dr. Jean Creighton was born in Toronto and grew up in Greece, where her mother claims she showed a great interest in how stars form from the age of five. To her, Physics was the gateway to Astronomy, and so she studied physics at the University of Athens. She returned to Canada to earn a masters degree from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Waterloo. Since 1999, she's taught Astronomy at UW-Milwaukee, taking over as director of UWM's Manfred Olson Planetarium in 2007. Jean enjoys interacting with audiences in the theater and on the radio to give them an appreciation of what we know and how we know it.

 Bob Greenstreet Architect, Professor, Author | | Professor Robert Greenstreet is the Dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UWM and is currently the longest serving Dean of Architecture in North America. Dr. Greenstreet is the author/co-author of seven books, has contributed to fifteen other texts and handbooks and has published over one hundred and fifty working papers and articles, both nationally and internationally. In addition to being a registered architect in the United Kingdom, he is a practicing arbitrator and mediator recognized in both the United States and Europe.

 John Gurda Historian | | John Gurda is a Milwaukee-born writer and historian who's studied his hometown since 1972. He is author of seventeen books, including histories of Milwaukee-area neighborhoods, churches and industries. Gurda's The Making of Milwaukee is the first feature-length history of the community published since 1948. Milwaukee Public Television produced a five-hour documentary series based on the book.
Gurda is also a lecturer, tour guide, and history columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Boston College and a master's in cultural geography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Gurda is an eight-time winner of the Wisconsin Historical Society's Award of Merit.

 Jane Hampden Special Correspondent | | Jane Hampden teaches broadcast journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She produced and hosted the Lake Effect program for five years before joining the faculty in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. She worked for 12 years as a television news anchor and reporter in Denver and Milwaukee before pursuing a career in public radio. Hampden has received many awards for broadcast writing and reporting, including three regional Edward R. Murrow awards for her work at WUWM. |

 Eric Hansen Urban Adventurer | | Eric Hansen is a Milwaukee writer and outdoorsman who frequently explores the upper Great Lakes and the American West.
He writes for Backpacker Magazine and other publications, and has written two guidebooks: Hiking Wisconsin and Hiking Michigan's Upper Peninsula - A Guide to the Greatest Hiking Adventures in the U.P. The books reflect a memorable 1,700 miles of research on foot in search of the region's most notable pathways.
Hansen's adventures include 24 treks to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, ascension of most of the high peaks of Glacier National Park, and a telemark-style ski descent from Colorado's highest summit, Mount Elbert.

 Peggy Hong Milwaukee Poet Laureate | | Peggy Hong was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Hawaii and New York. She is author of several books including the poetry collection Three Truths and a Lie (Water Press and Media). She writes a monthly column for LiteraryMama.com called Far From Cool, about parenting teenagers. Hong has lived in Milwaukee since 1987 with her husband and their three children. She teaches at Alverno College, Woodland Pattern Book Center, and Riverwest Yogashala, where she is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor. She is Milwaukee's Poet Laureate for 2006 and 2007.

He is a board member of Slow Food Wisconsin Southeast and on the planning and developing committee for the Farm Fresh Atlas, promoting local food sources in southeast Wisconsin. Kozlowski, with his wife, Sandra Raduenz, owns Pinehold Gardens in Oak Creek, a 21-acre farm providing fruits and vegetables to CSA members, farm market customers and local restaurant-goers.

His screenplay "Mad City" was produced by Warner Bros. in 1997, directed by Costa-Gavras, and starring Dustin Hoffman, John Travolta and Alan Alda. His satirical novel "Like We Care" was published in the fall of 2004. He has written for Milwaukee Magazine, the Journal Sentinel, Creative Screenwriting, the Baltimore Sun and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is currently working on a new novel.

Ricigliano was a founding board member of the Alliance for Peacebuilding, a consortium of leading conflict resolution NGOs and academic centers. He has worked with political parties in the new Iraqi Parliament and on the peace process in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
