It’s been a bang up year for Wisconsin’s dairy producers. Milk prices hit record highs and feed costs were low, resulting in big profits.


A bill that would loosen restrictions on sales of raw milk in Wisconsin is still pending. The bill passed a state senate committee in November, but has not advanced past that stage.

Sometimes during the hustle and bustle of the city life, people need to escape. Some escape to the country roads of Wisconsin, looking for that serenity.

Dairy farming has been a part of Wisconsin’s landscape for generations. A small fraction of those operations is organic. WUWM’s environmental reporter Susan Bence visited a couple committed to organic farming and to passing on their methods to the next generation.
