Eric Korbitz

Advisory Board Member

Eric Korbitz has over 30 years of experience working in the tax and financial planning field. His practice, Korbitz Financial Planning, is focused toward serving the needs of individuals and their personal financial business. Eric received his B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Master of Accounting Science (M.A.S.) degree, with an emphasis in taxation, from the University of Illinois.

Eric is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor and a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Eric is also a licensed pilot, having worked for nearly 15 years for Midwest Airlines as a first officer and then captain on the DC9 and Boeing 717. Eric also served as the assistant director of Flight Standards and Training at Midwest. Eric currently flies for pleasure.

He is married to Lucy, and they are the proud parents of two UW-Madison Badgers, Will and Kate.

Eric initially served as a member of the WUWM Advisory Board from 1999-2005 and then rejoined in 2015.

Eric says, “I began listening to public radio in the early days of NPR, listening to Susan Stamberg, when she cohosted All Things Considered. I have continued to listen to public radio over the years and appreciated the long-form journalism that is provided by NPR and WUWM, with stories that go beyond the headlines.” As for favorite shows, he says, “If I had to pick... it would be Marketplace on the national level, and Capitol Notes from WUWM.”
