Stories about kids, guns and how to stop the violence. Precious Lives, created by 371 Productions, is a 2-year, 100-part weekly radio series about gun violence and young people in the Milwaukee area. The series applies a public health lens to each story to help listeners understand the full scope of the problem: who are the victims and the shooters; how are the weapons obtained; and what can we change about the environment that contributes to violence in Milwaukee?

#007 Precious Lives: Breaking Ground to Break the Cycle of Violence

This past October, Milwaukee broke ground on what will be the largest family justice center in the country.

The center will provide domestic violence victims with all the services they might need under one roof - everything from restraining orders to family counseling. Will this new center help break the cycle of violence in Milwaukee?

Sojourner Family Peace Center needs volunteers - to answer the 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline, or work with kids. You can check out a link to all of Sojourner’s volunteer opportunities on the Precious Lives  website.
