American Sign Language Program Thrives at UWM

It is the fourth most commonly used language in the United States. It is a language that crosses over all nationalities. And it is a language that more and more college students are choosing to study as part of their undergraduate program.

It is the American Sign Language – used by the deaf and hard of hearing to communicate with the world around them.

On this edition of UWM Today, learn more about this fascinating and essential language program that is thriving on the UWM campus. Host Tom Luljak talks with Marika Kovacs-Houlihan, co-coordinator of UWM'sAmerican Sign Language program, and student Kate Peterson.
