AUTOMatic Presents 3099: A New Moniker for Milwaukee Musician Darius Windom

AUTOMatic

Milwaukee hip hop artist Darius Windom is one half of the duo, AUTOMatic. The group writes its own songs that pay homage to the golden age of hip hop.

AUTOMatic continues to perform in Milwaukee, but Windom (also know as APRIME), had some other musical fish to fry. The result? AUTOMatic Presents 3099. It's a new project that allows Windom to share himself more openly with his audience, a feat that can be difficult for introvert like himself.

"The type of person that I am... I'm very neurotic and I think of like, all these different avenues of 'what ifs.' And I just decided to write it down," says Windom.

AUTOMatic Presents 3099 is a way for Windom to explore new style with lyrics that reflect a different side of his personality. He hopes this new project will allow his listeners better insight into who he is as an artist.

"I honestly believe like, had I not pursued music then my life probably would've gone in a whole different way," he says. "When it comes to music, it really consumes me. And I feel like it's a mission, if you will. The only that I'm going to be able to get out of this mission is to actually be a full-time musician."

AUTOMatic Presents 3099 will perform at Chill on the Hill Tuesday, June 28.
