A Chat With Professor Fred Helmstetter on How The Brain Works

Jon Strelecki

One of the most amazing functions of our brain may be the ability to form a memory and then recall it later.

It happens constantly and yet that process of making memories is something scientists are still trying to understand.

At UW-Milwaukee, we are fortunate to have one of the world's leading researchers studying how the brain works. UWM Today's Tom Luljak talks with Fred Helmstetter, a Distinguished Professor Psychology. In the last decade, he has been awarded millions of dollars to conduct his research into how the brain functions.

This interview originally aired November 13, 2014.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
