This week we’re sharing a few hidden gems from our archives, beginning with Betsy Rowbottom and her “Belonging” story from January 2016. Like many only-children, Betsy’s wish for a younger sibling made it to every birthday and Christmas list right up until she turned eight and her parents divorced. At that point, the sibling was replaced by a puppy and yet, for logistical reasons, Santa could never deliver. However, when Betsy turned 12 she received some life-changing news. Listen in to this lovely story of family, doubt, hope and over all, love.

Our next story takes a humorous turn as Annalisa Fernandez gives us a lesson in hamster smuggling with her “Who Knew?” story from 2015. Originally from Miami, the Fernandez family travels back often and does its best to recruit a legion of hamster sitters for their beloved “Bob.” However, as an upcoming trip approached, all of Bob’s sitters were unavailable. With hamsters banned from airplanes (escape artists that they are), Annalisa came up with a plan. Only, where should they hide Bob and what’s more, how do they get a mammal with a spinal cord through the TSA? Tune in to find out.
