Another sign of the times for the print industry. The final paper edition of the Onion hit newsstands Thursday.
From now on, readers will have to go online to read the satirical newspaper. Milwaukee was one of only three markets where the print version still existed after 25 years. The others were Providence, Rhode Island and Chicago. Executives say print ads declined, so they’ll focus exclusively on the digital operation. In Milwaukee, there have been several Onion celebrations to mark the end of an era.
WUWM's LaToya Dennis spoke with Bill and Marsha Zalenski, Matthew Wurzer, and Jim Holtz at last week's Onion farewell party to find out what they will miss most.
