Not long ago, the Milwaukee Film Festival convened a panel to discuss food insecurity in Milwaukee.

The jumping off point was a film, called The Starfish Throwers, which profiles three people doing substantial work to reduce hunger around them.

The filmmaker is Wisconsin nativeJesse Roesler and he speaks with Lake Effect's Mitch Teich.

"One person can actually make a big difference through inspiring other people," Roesler says. "So it's that idea that our impact can be greater than our individuals actions, sometimes without us even knowing it."

Audrey is a WUWM host and producer for Lake Effect.
