The members of the Scottish indie rock band, Frightened Rabbit, are excited to be returning to Milwaukee this week. They’ll play the Pabst Theatre on Thursday – one of their favorite places to play. The Milwaukee stop is one of many in a stateside tour supporting their new album, Painting of a Panic Attack.
Scott Hutchison is founder, songwriter, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for the Scottish indie rock band, and he says the band hopes to capitalize on the success the band has had in this country over the past decade. Outside of gaining support and filling theatres, Hutchison says that success also allows for greater growth and creativity.
"We have an audience and as long as we have the quality of songs then it doesn’t need to be an onslaught – and I think this album is purposely less of an onslaught than the previous efforts," he says.
Hutchison took some time in between US gigs this week to talk with Lake Effect's Bonnie North about growing up in the Scottish music scene, the band's growth and of course, the latest album:
